La tarifa de carga terrestre indica cu\u00e1ntos d\u00f3lares cuesta transportar un contenedor de 40&rdquo; con un peso de 34 toneladas por kil\u00f3metro. Como se observa, Per\u00fa (US$0.47\/tonelada-Km) es el pa\u00eds de Am\u00e9rica Latina con mayores tarifas de transporte terrestre, es seguido por Hait\u00ed (US$0.12\/tonelada-Km), Brasil (US$0.19\/tonelada-Km) y la Rep\u00fablica Dominicana (US0.14\/tonelada-Km). La tarifa promedio de Am\u00e9rica Latina es de US$0.12\/tonelada-Km. Los costes de transporte terrestre en la Rep\u00fablica Dominicana, al comprarse con los dem\u00e1s pa\u00edses de Am\u00e9rica Latina, disminuyen la competitividad de los productos fabricados localmente, en la medida en que aumentan los costos de producci\u00f3n de estos: las empresas deben vender sus productos a precios relativamente superiores a los de sus competidores en la regi\u00f3n para cubrir sus costes de transporte.
