Este indicador suele utilizarse como una aproximaci\u00f3n alternativa al comportamiento de la econom\u00eda China. En general, cuanto m\u00e1s din\u00e1mica y mayor crecimiento tenga una econom\u00eda, mayor tienden a ser la carga transportada en esta. Como se observa, las toneladas transportadas por ferrocarril en China mantienen un crecimiento constante hasta mediados de la Crisis Financiera de 2008, decreciendo en dicho per\u00edodo para recuperarse durante el tercer trimestre de 2009. En noviembre de 2015 la carga transportada por ferrocarril en China experiment\u00f3 su mayor contracci\u00f3n interanual de los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os: las toneladas transportadas disminuyeron en un 15.6% de noviembre 2014 a noviembre 2015. El comportamiento del transporte de carga por ferrocarril de los \u00faltimos dos a\u00f1os puede estar indicando que la econom\u00eda China experimenta un proceso de desaceleraci\u00f3n.
