En la gr\u00e1fica se muestra este balance desde 1996 hasta el a\u00f1o 2015. El SPNF comprende al Gobierno Central y corporaciones no financieras del Estado dominicano. El balance presupuestario no es m\u00e1s que la diferencia entre los ingresos totales y gastos totales, pudiendo ser: positivo o un super\u00e1vit (ingresos &gt; gastos); negativo o un d\u00e9ficit (ingresos &lt; gastos); e, igual a cero (0), cuando ingresos y gastos son iguales. Al incurrir en d\u00e9ficit, los gobiernos cubren la diferencia entre sus ingresos y gastos mediante la emisi\u00f3n de deuda, sea externa o interna. Al incrementarse la deuda p\u00fablica, como ha pasado en <a href=\"http:\/\/crees.org.do\/es\/gr%C3%A1fica-del-d%C3%ADa-deuda-del-sector-p%C3%BAblico-no-financiero-2000-enero-2016\">Rep\u00fablica Dominicana<\/a>, tambi\u00e9n se incrementa el gasto en pago de intereses y la amortizaci\u00f3n de dicha deuda.
