En la gr\u00e1fica se muestra el <strong><em>pago de intereses <\/em><\/strong>de los <strong><em>gobierno centrales<\/em><\/strong> de Am\u00e9rica Latina, con informaci\u00f3n disponible en la Comisi\u00f3n Econ\u00f3mica para Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL), como porcentaje de los <strong><em>ingresos tributarios<\/em><\/strong> de dichos gobiernos en 2015. Brasil, pa\u00eds que experimenta una crisis fiscal desde mediados del a\u00f1o pasado, fue el pa\u00eds con mayor proporci\u00f3n de <strong><em>pago de intereses <\/em><\/strong>en la regi\u00f3n: el 40.8% de sus <strong><em>ingresos tributarios<\/em><\/strong>, casi duplicando su proporci\u00f3n de 2014 (24.9%). Seg\u00fan proyecciones del Ministerio de Hacienda de Rep\u00fablica Dominicana, contenidas en el <em>Proyecto de Ley de Presupuesto 2016<\/em>, durante el a\u00f1o 2017 el pa\u00eds tendr\u00e1 un proporci\u00f3n de sus <strong><em>ingresos tributarios <\/em><\/strong>dedicados al <strong><em>pago de intereses <\/em><\/strong>muy cercana a la registrada por Brasil en 2014, a\u00f1o previo a estallido de la crisis fiscal de ese pa\u00eds. Para los gobiernos, el <strong><em>pago de intereses <\/em><\/strong>es un <strong><em>gasto corriente<\/em><\/strong> originado por el repago de una deuda, fruto de un <strong><em>d\u00e9ficit fiscal<\/em><\/strong>. Los <strong><em>ingresos tributarios<\/em><\/strong>, o los ingresos por el cobro de impuestos, son una partida muy importante del presupuesto de los gobiernos de la regi\u00f3n: representan, en promedio, el 87.9% de sus <strong><em>ingresos totales<\/em><\/strong>. Por lo anterior, observar la proporci\u00f3n de los <strong><em>ingresos tributarios<\/em><\/strong> que representa el <strong><em>pago de intereses<\/em><\/strong>, puede interpretarse como un indicador de la sostenibilidad de la deuda de los gobiernos: mientras m\u00e1s alta la proporci\u00f3n, menores los recursos disponibles para cubrir sus otros gastos, y viceversa.
