Panam\u00e1 fue seguido de Costa Rica (USD$2,542 millones) y por la Rep\u00fablica Dominicana (USD$2,222 millones). La inversi\u00f3n extranjera directa neta que recibe un pa\u00eds comprende las inversiones de capital que hacen extranjeros dentro de este, menos las inversiones que hacen los residentes en el extranjero. La posici\u00f3n de Panam\u00e1 es mayormente explicada por el favorable clima para hacer negocios, lo cual se refleja en la posici\u00f3n que ocupa dentro de Am\u00e9rica Central en el \u00cdndice <em>Doing Business 2016<\/em> del Banco Mundial. A pesar de que la IED de Rep\u00fablica Dominicana fue superior al promedio de Am\u00e9rica Central, esta todav\u00eda puede ser mayor, si se logra mejorar clima de negocios para atraer m\u00e1s
