Sin embargo, tras negociaciones con los gobiernos de estos dos \u00faltimos pa\u00edses, la implementaci\u00f3n de los aranceles fue suspendida hasta el 1 de marzo, debido a la negociaci\u00f3n de acuerdos de seguridad fronteriza con estos pa\u00edses, seg\u00fan los datos informados. En el caso de China, la medida entr\u00f3 en vigor el 4 de febrero, lo que llev\u00f3 al gobierno chino a responder con aranceles del 15% a ciertos productos estadounidenses, vigentes desde el 10 de febrero.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En caso de aplicarse todas las medidas propuestas, no solo afectar\u00edan productos finales, sino tambi\u00e9n materias primas y bienes de capital, encareciendo insumos esenciales para la producci\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s, la relaci\u00f3n comercial entre EE.UU., M\u00e9xico y Canad\u00e1 est\u00e1 altamente integrada en sectores como la industria automotriz, donde piezas y componentes cruzan las fronteras en distintas etapas antes del ensamblaje final. Un motor puede fabricarse en M\u00e9xico, ensamblarse en EE.UU. y recibir sistemas electr\u00f3nicos en Canad\u00e1.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los aranceles en cualquier punto de este proceso elevar\u00edan costos en toda la cadena de valor, afectando la competitividad y trasladando sus efectos a los precios internacionales. Adem\u00e1s, cuando un pa\u00eds impone medidas arancelarias, los pa\u00edses afectados tienden a responder con medidas similares, generando distorsiones en el comercio y desviando la producci\u00f3n hacia pa\u00edses menos eficientes, lo que incrementa costos y afecta la asignaci\u00f3n global de recursos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00bfPero qu\u00e9 significar\u00eda esto para Rep\u00fablica Dominicana?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En 2024, las importaciones desde Estados Unidos alcanzaron US$11,558.2 millones, consolid\u00e1ndolo como el principal socio comercial del pa\u00eds. EE.UU. es el mayor proveedor de bienes esenciales, con una participaci\u00f3n clave en energ\u00eda, manufactura y transporte.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los combustibles y derivados del petr\u00f3leo representaron US$3,738.8 millones de estas importaciones. Adem\u00e1s, bienes industriales como maquinarias (US$1,282.2 millones) y veh\u00edculos (US$668.7 millones) dependen en gran medida de EE.UU. Sin embargo, muchos de estos productos no solo provienen de f\u00e1bricas estadounidenses, sino que forman parte de cadenas de producci\u00f3n regionales, donde insumos cruzan las fronteras de EE.UU., M\u00e9xico y Canad\u00e1 antes de su distribuci\u00f3n final.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Aunque estas medidas no est\u00e1n dirigidas a Rep\u00fablica Dominicana, la alta dependencia de bienes importados desde EE.UU. un probable aumento en sus costos de producci\u00f3n, podr\u00eda reflejarse en los precios locales. Para las empresas, esto significar\u00eda mayores costos operativos, reduciendo su capacidad de inversi\u00f3n y expansi\u00f3n. Al mismo tiempo, los hogares enfrentar\u00edan una p\u00e9rdida de poder adquisitivo, ya que el encarecimiento de bienes limitar\u00eda su acceso a productos y servicios.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En el entorno actual, donde muchas econom\u00edas dependen de importaciones, los aranceles no solo encarecen los productos, sino que tambi\u00e9n distorsionan el comercio, afectando la estabilidad econ\u00f3mica a nivel global.
